In a UN General Assembly dated September 25, 2019, the Philippines and its master China were the only countries who voted ”NO” to the UN Resolution which seeks to stop the butchery of Ronghiya Muslims in Myanmar. The situation in Myanmar has since been worsely deteriorating since August of 2017 wherein arbitrary arrests, torture, forced labor, socioeconomic exploitation, the forced displacement of more than a million Rohingya Muslims to Bangladesh and sexual and gender-based violence against women and children, among others were common and the government has done nothing about it.
The said resolution reaffirms the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and recalling the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights, the Convention on the Right of the Child, the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women and the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination, and other relevant international human rights law.
Which means that Myanmar as a member of the United Nations must take concrete steps in addressing the worsely deteriorating human-rights condition in the country and must use all measures to necessary to stop the violence against the minorities most notably the Ronghiya Muslims.
Xi’s China bad influence on the Philippines
In such a short amount of time. The Philippines having been previously one of the safe haven of all Southeast asian democracies now turned full authoritarian and now openly supports the daily mass murders and brazen human-rights violations of other authoritarian states. Back in 1937-1941, the Philippines one of the few countries opened its loving arms and saved more than 1,200 Jews persecuted in Germany. This was of course spearheaded by the ever so patriotic former President Manuel Quezon.
We also saved thousands of Russians who fled from their homeland when the Communist regime there started massacring innocent civilians suspected to hav ties with the deposed Romanov aristocracy and or with the West during the Cold War era. The Philippines has been one of the finest examples of a hospitable, loving and fierce defenders of human-rights during those times.
But now, the Philippines have totally switched sides and now in cahoots with the worlds prime evils and oppressors including its high-interest loan benefactor. China. You see? China like Myanmar has since orchestrated its own crackdowns against the local Muslims by putting them behind bars and subjecting them to tortures and human-organ harvesting.
Xi totally influenced Duterte’s Philippines hence our recent behaviou the United Nations General Assembly. We have now become the defenders and justifiers of the worlds mass-murderers.
Myanmar gang-raped women and killed children and now the Philippines agrees with it?
Myanmar security forces killed, gang rape and committed arson during a crackdown that drove more than 730,000 people to flee western Rakhine state for neighbouring Bangladesh. This was laid bare through a damning report released by the United Nations fact-finding mission who called for top Myanmar generals, most notably army chief Min Aung Hlaing, to face trial for the killings, gang rape and arson during the Rohingya crackdown.
Just like the Philippines. Myanmar continues to admit the atrocities and even refused to acknowledged the ancestry of the Ronghiya Muslims by razing their villages to dust in their bid to cleanse Myanmar of Muslims. Exactly the same method used by Duterte’s master China to the Muslims in Xinjiang – incarcerating them and subjected them to torture.
How can our pre-dominantly conservative Christian country happily agrees to this again?
I’m just finding this pretty ironic that a country who boast itself of being religious finds itself numb and insensitive to issues just like this and worst even happily agrees to the butchery of our country-men to quench their thirst of fascist validations. Our country is in a much much deeper shit because people finds that whatever this government is doing — is just completely fine because it is not affecting us or members of our family.
Philippines is fast duterteriorating both economically and morally — eating us inside out.
