Robin Padilla ecstatically shared a video teaser of the upcoming new movie which he will be portraying the life of Bato dela Rosa a senatorial candidate of this year’s election. As you know, Bato dela Rosa is one of Duterte’s most trusted police chief who helped and defended his brutal War on Drugs.
Everyone seems to be a bit surprised since the movie is set to be aired just in time for the elections. Which is really odd for any political candidate running for public office. But according to Republic Act 9006 or otherwise known to us the ”Fair Election Act’.
Sec. 21. Prohibited forms of election propaganda. –
a. No movie, cinematography or documentary portraying the life or biography of a candidate shall be publicly exhibited in a theater, television station or any public forum during the campaign period.
b. No movie, cinematography or documentary portrayed by an actor or media personality who is himself a candidate shall be publicly exhibited in a theater, television station or any public forum during the campaign period;
If this were true then the movie should not be aired on or before the 2019 elections. In fact, if proven that Bato dela Rosa funded the movie then his bid for the Senate should otherwise be cancelled or terminated for his willful disrespect to election rules and regulations.
Unfortunately, since President Duterte is in power. All the wrongs that his friends and allies committed has been condoned — including the plunderers who’s just been set free in exchange of their undying support in keeping him power.
Would you watch the movie? Would you still vote for Bato dela Rosa? I doubt I would. I won’t be supporting an enabler of the mass-murderer and a vile misogynist who likes to abuse and belittle women.
